Green Bay and the broader Fox Valley area — Appleton, Oshkosh, Fond du Lac — have gaming communities that tend to get overlooked in coverage focused on Milwaukee and Madison. The area has game shops running organized play, a community of tabletop gamers with the tight-knit character of mid-sized Midwest cities, and reasonable drive access to both Milwaukee and Madison for major conventions.
Northeast Wisconsin Gaming
Gnome Games operates in the Fox Valley area alongside other game shops serving the Northeast Wisconsin gaming community. The region has active Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon, and D&D communities organized through local shops. Green Bay's gaming scene is smaller than Madison's or Milwaukee's but punches above its size in community engagement.
Convention Access
Green Bay gamers are within about two hours of Milwaukee and about 2.5 hours of Madison (Gamehole Con, fall). The drive to Chicago for C2E2 or other Rosemont conventions is about 3.5 hours. Gen Con in Indianapolis is a manageable 7-hour drive — far enough to require overnight lodging but within the range that Green Bay gamers regularly make for the convention.
The Broader Wisconsin Scene
